Or should we say a roar of approval! We decided to give Simon a week off from travelling the world and sent Tony Evans, our long-suffering Chairman down to South Africa to attend the CHI annual conference. This year it was held at the Safari Lodge in Rustenburg. The conference brings together CHI personnel and key customers under one roof for 3 days of fun and of course, a chance to see what’s new from the CHI supply partners.
Tony is an old hand at this event, having been with Klaxon for a total of 18 years on and off, both as Sales Manager and ultimately MD from 1990 to 1997. He has attended the conference a number of times, as Klaxon are the acoustic partner in signalling devices for CHI, so it was a case of catch up with a few old friends including Johan de Bruyn, the signal specialist for CHI.
The main message from Moflash was, of course, Spectrum 600. With CHI involvement in switch-gear and process control, the product was almost made for them and first reports back from Tony and Johan are that the product is a roaring success .
